Making Respondus LockDown Browser Easy for Students

If students have questions regarding using LockDown Browser, you can always start by referring them to this quick start guide from Respondus.

Some reminders:

  • It is best practice to do a low point quiz with LockDown Browser before students need to use it for an exam. This allows students to troubleshoot the setup process without a stressful deadline.
  • Remind students they can use LockDown Browser on Windows, Mac, Chromebook, or iPad. See this article for more information regarding compatible systems.
  • Accessibility laws require all students must have an equal opportunity to take a proctored exam. If they are unable to use LockDown, have a backup plan (such as an instructor proctoring their exam on a Zoom call).
