The chat feature allows students to have a real-time discussion via Moodle. This is a great way to get a different understanding of each other or a topic being discussed.
If your instructor has created a chat in your course, it is important to know that chat is always open to students. Your instructor may have set times for chat, such as online office hours, but you and your classmates can access chat at any time. Moodle does not restrict access to the chat based on the times set by your instructor. If your instructor has set times for chat, you will see those days and times on your Moodle calendar as a reminder to login.
