To turn this off for your quiz follow these steps:

  1. Select the quiz from the course page to view the quiz description page.
  2. Select the More tab at the top on the page and select Filters from the drop down menu.
Filters option in the More tab at the top of a quiz page.
  3. Scroll down and find Display emoticons as images and change the drop down across from it to Off or Default (Off).
